GD-3318Y Variable Frequency Transmission Line Parameter Tester
Product Description
GD-3318Y Variable Frequency Transmission Line Parameter Tester
Introduction
1) The transmission line tester is an integrated structure with a built-in variable frequency power module that can output power through variable frequency voltage regulation. The frequency can be changed to 47.5Hz/52.5Hz, 45.0Hz/ 55.0Hz, 57.5Hz/62.5Hz, 55.0Hz /65.0Hz. By using digital filtering technology, it avoids the interference of power frequency electric fields on the test and overcomes the problem of large measurement errors caused by strong power frequency interference in traditional power frequency testing methods on site.
2) The transmission line parameter tester adopts a unique anti induction voltage circuit inside, ensuring that the instrument can withstand higher induction voltage (anti induction current can reach 60A) and can work normally under high induction voltage of 30KV.
3) The GD-3318Y transmission line tester is equipped with a 7-inch large touch sensitive color display screen, a comprehensive touch operation interface, simple operation, and English menu display for all operation steps. Each step is very clear, and operators can use it without additional professional training.
4) All measurement processes of the instrument only need to be connected to the mains voltage of 220V, solving the inconvenience of on-site 380V voltage connection in existing measurement methods.

Why use the Variable Frequency method to test the relevant parameters of transmission lines?
1) When testing near the operating power grid or on lines that have been put into operation but have power outages, there is a strong 50Hz (or 60Hz) power frequency electromagnetic field interference in the space. If a 50Hz power supply is directly used for testing, interference signals will overwhelm weak test signals, resulting in severe distortion or even inability to perform measurements.
2) If Variable Frequency method is used for testing, GD-3318Y generates a test power supply with a frequency different from the power frequency, such as 45Hz, 55Hz, 47.5Hz, 52.5Hz, etc., usually in the range of 40-60Hz, avoiding strong interference points of 50 ± nHz, and injecting this Variable Frequency current/voltage signal into the tested circuit.
3) The internal acquisition unit of the instrument has highly selective narrowband filtering or adopts digital signal processing technology, which can accurately extract the amplitude and phase information of the injected Variable Frequency signal, while effectively suppressing strong 50Hz power frequency interference and its harmonics.
4) Finally, by measuring the voltage, current amplitude, and phase difference (impedance angle) at Variable Frequency, the impedance and admittance of the line at Variable Frequency are calculated. Then, taking advantage of the relatively gentle frequency variation of line parameters near the power frequency, accurate power frequency line parameters can be obtained by converting the measurement results of Variable Frequency through certain mathematical models or proportional relationships.
