12KV High-interference Transformer Frequency Dielectric Loss Tester No-disconnect Test
Product Description
12KV High-interference Transformer Frequency Dielectric Loss Tester No-disconnect Test
Dielectric loss testing at substation sites is frequently hampered by a series of external factors not related to equipment failures: strong power frequency electromagnetic coupling from nearby energized busbars causes fluctuating readings and even negative values; traditional methods for testing CVT coupling capacitance require disconnecting the high-voltage leads, posing safety risks due to working at heights; the absence of mains power on-site, reliance on generator power, leads to frequent instrument lockouts due to improper neutral grounding; and paper-based test data records lack metadata such as environment, mode, and frequency, making it impossible to reproduce and compare test conditions later.
GDGS-10kV dielectric loss tester addresses these real-world obstacles. It features self-excited testing logic for CVT, enabling separate or simultaneous testing of C1 and C2 without disconnecting the high-voltage leads. Its hardware incorporates a grounding status monitoring mechanism, adapting to temporary power supply scenarios such as generators.
Each stored file is bound to a complete test context, supporting local printing and batch export to USB drives, catering to both factory inspection and field substation overhauls and preventative testing.
Why Choose Our Products?
◎Multi-frequency sampling + digital notch filtering reduces on-site power frequency coupling interference.
Provides multiple frequency conversion combinations such as 45Hz/55Hz and 47.5Hz/52.5Hz, without relying on simple hardware shielding. The DSP unit performs digital notch filtering on the acquired signal, stripping away the 50Hz power frequency coupling interference component. In complex electromagnetic environments near energized busbars, this reduces reading drift, negative dielectric loss, and other anomalies, minimizing the time spent on repeated on-site tests.
◎Integrated CVT testing logic avoids high-altitude work involving high-voltage lead removal.
Supports separate CVT testing, simultaneous C1/C2 testing, and transformation ratio and phase angle difference verification. The entire process does not require disassembling the high-voltage side leads. In synchronous testing mode, software algorithms compensate for the test cable's ground distribution parameters. It also supports reverse shielding measurement of the C0 upper coupling capacitor. One instrument completes the entire CVT insulation and transformation ratio verification, reducing the personal and equipment risks associated with high-altitude lead removal.
◎Hardware-level grounding monitoring, compatible with temporary generator power supply conditions.
The instrument goes beyond simple software pop-up reminders; grounding status serves as a pre-test lockout condition. It provides corresponding on-site handling guidelines for floating neutral point issues that commonly occur during generator power supply maintenance in the field, preventing tests from being impossible due to grounding settings. It is suitable for emergency maintenance scenarios where substations lack mains power.
◎Complete test archives with metadata, enabling reproducible conditions.
The instrument can save 100 complete archives, recording not only tgδ and Cx results, but also the test mode, applied high voltage, selected frequency, and timestamp. It supports on-site thermal printing and batch export of all records to a USB drive; later review can reconstruct all test conditions at the time, meeting the traceability requirements of third-party testing institutions.
◎Integrated Multi-Test Modes Reduces On-Site Instrument Changes
In addition to standard GST/UST forward and reverse dielectric loss measurements, it also includes a built-in GSTg cross-winding test mode, adaptable to high-low-low-high capacitance dielectric loss measurements in two-winding and three-winding transformers; it also features LCR impedance parameter measurement functionality. One device covers most dielectric loss-related test items for capacitive insulation equipment, reducing the need to move multiple instruments back and forth.
◎Large Touchscreen Human-Machine Interaction and Complete Safety Protection System
A large, fully touchscreen operating screen with menus categorized according to on-site test scenarios; integrated overvoltage, overcurrent, and short-circuit hardware protection; an emergency stop button for one-click high-voltage output cutoff in abnormal conditions; and fault code prompts for high-voltage circuits and power units for quick fault location.

Can frequency conversion mode completely eliminate on-site interference?
Frequency conversion + digital notch filtering can significantly reduce 50Hz power frequency coupling interference, but it cannot eliminate all types of on-site interference. If the interference is still too high, it is necessary to simultaneously optimize wiring, shielding, and grounding conditions, using multiple methods in tandem to obtain reliable data.
Is it possible to test the CVT without touching any leads?
The high-voltage main lead does not need to be disassembled; however, the CVT secondary winding circuit still needs to be disconnected according to specifications to prevent voltage backflow from damaging the secondary device. This step cannot be omitted.
How should I handle a generator power supply grounding error?
The instrument's grounding monitoring detects the neutral point potential fluctuation of the entire power supply circuit. The generator neutral point needs to be reliably grounded before connecting the instrument to eliminate this type of alarm.
What information will the storage record save?
It not only saves tgδ and capacitance results; it also records the test mode, applied high voltage, selected test frequency, and hardware timestamp, completely reproducing all conditions of this test, facilitating later comparison of test results from different periods.
